Part-time position available immediately - potential for growth to a full time position.
ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (RESNA Certified a plus)
Required Skills and Abilities:
• Strong knowledge of assistive technology devices for computer access including switch interfaces and mountings
• Knowledge of assistive and educational technology software for students with learning disabilities, developmental disabilities, physical disabilities
• Experience in working with individuals with a wide range of disabilities and ages
• Strong presentation / training skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
• Able to collaborative and be a team player
• Able to work independently
Job Activities include:
• Provide assistive technology evaluations in the area of computer access and learning solutions
• Write comprehensive evaluation reports
• Present on assistive technology devices and software at local, regional meetings and conferences
• Provide training on devices and software both at the center and in schools / agencies
• Ability to travel to off-site locations in the central New Jersey area
Requirements/qualifications:
• Master's degree in a field related to services for individuals with disabilities (e.g. Occupational Therapist, Rehabilitation Specialist, Special Educator)
• Relevant experience in working with individuals with disabilities
• Applicants with extensive assistive technology experience may be considered
