President's Message

Welcome to FRA’s exciting website!

The fact that you are here and reading this greeting is proof that you CARE…CARE about providing possAbilities for people with disAbilities and CARE about what happens to people with special needs; CARE about FRA and our Mission.

FRA was founded 34 years ago by people who CARED.  FRA is based on the premise that CARING people can make a difference in the lives of those who have special requirements and extended families.  Over this period of time, FRA has been a driving instrument in changing the way services are performed; technology is utilized and includes the whole family unit.  All of this has happened by CARING people who could process new ideas into actions.  You will find a lot of information about this on the website.

Last year was remarkable for us.  FRA…

  • Closed out the fiscal year, for the fourth year in a row with no debt.
  • Opened a new location in Brick offering an exciting new program in Ocean County that teaches young adults with disAbilities important life skills.
  • Announced a You Tube Channel for siblings of children with Down syndrome.
  • Introduced FRA Ambassadors for adults who have achieved many accomplishments in their lives and who have an affiliation with FRA.  Some of which have been with FRA since they were infants.
  • Students proved their commitment to give back to the community by successfully hosting a Teens for Jeans campaign powered by Aeropostale to help homeless teens in our country.

On behalf of this organization, we are incredibly grateful for all the support and donations that we receive.  None of these accomplishments could have been possible without the strong efforts of our administrative staff, our therapists, our Board of Trustees, our volunteers and YOU.  Your support and efforts are at the heart of our Mission and is the engine which keeps us moving forward. In current times, many families are desperately trying to makes ends meet and with the added financial responsibility of a child with special needs, programs like ours can help to lift the burden.   We have many ways for you to become actively involved with us. They range from event committees and operating groups to class assistants and Board seats.  I hope that you see something that inspires you to get involved.  Together, we can reach more individuals with disAbilities and grant them new and exciting opportunities.

We thank you for becoming involved with FRA and the work we do, and we wish you good health and happiness always.
