Shrewsbury, NJ--Inspired by the success of the 2006 matching donor
challenge, an anonymous donor has again pledged a challenge grant to
Family Resource Associates to kick-start the 2007 fundraising gala
scheduled for Friday, March 30th at Branches. The donor will match
(dollar-for-dollar) each donation for the event up to $10,000 (total)
including sponsorships and underwriters, donation or purchase of silent
auction items, and ads placed in the journal.
“Opportunities like this are rare, and for a not-for-profit agency like
FRA that depends upon the public for support, it’s a wonderful chance to
raise additional funds to help even more children,” said Linda Magill,
Director of Development for FRA.
The gala is an annual fundraising tradition at FRA and the 2007 theme is
Baubles, Bangles, & Beads…a night of dinner, dancing and the best blues
band at the Jersey Shore. Music will be provided by the Chuck Lambert
Band, (www.chucklambert.com),
winner of the 2006 Jersey Shore Jazz and Blues Foundation “Battle of the
Bands” in October. In February, the band will be traveling to Memphis,
Tennessee to compete in the International Blues Challenge.
Since its inception in 1979, FRA has helped over 10,000 children with
disabilities through home-based early intervention for infants,
therapeutic recreation programs, family and sibling support groups and
assistive technology services through FRA’s TECHConnection computer lab.
With the opening of the TECHConnection in 1988, FRA emerged as a national
leader in the field of assistive technology. Giving children and adults
with special needs access to computer technology increases their
independence and opens a world of learning possibilities.
