Joe is 27 years old and has been involved at FRA since the age of 1 year, when he enrolled in our infant program. He continued in our summer program and TECHConnection classes, and has used the TECHConnection services on many occasions. Joe is a very active man volunteering weekly in many settings, including at Chelsea Assisted Living, Prevention First, Salvation Army and Vonage. Joe goes to Brookdale and takes Enrichment Opportunity classes two nights a week. He is on a weekly radio show at Monmouth University, “The Furg, Joe and Carrie Show,” where they talk baseball, football and other topics. Joe has co-presented with his mother at different conferences, including the NJ Self Directed Conference. Joe has a support staff of 6 who help him with transportation and other self care needs. He actively manages his busy schedule, always remembers appointments, and is most proud that he is a good planner. Joe loves being out with people and hates to stay home, so you may see him in your travels around Monmouth County! Joe speaks to people wherever he goes about FRA, and is looking forward to having FRA Ambassador business cards so he can share the agency contact information with others.
