For Immediate Release: FRA TECHConnection gets $13,860 grant from Sunfield Foundation The TECHConnection at Family Resource Associates (FRA) has received a $13,860
grant from the Sunfield Foundation in Red Bank, announced Nancy Phalanukorn,
Director of the agency located in Shrewsbury. “We are so very excited to update
our technology lending library for the community,” stated Ms. Phalanukorn. The TECHConnection at FRA is a resource and demonstration center for the latest computer technology and software that is needed for anyone who has difficulty using, reading, seeing or hearing the computer. Certainly that includes children who are struggling with learning in the school environment and those who have learning disabilities or other developmental disabilities. The center offers solutions to the entire community using computers in the business and professional world by helping those with carpel tunnel syndrome, or for senior citizens with arthritis or those losing their eyesight or ability to speak, as well as people of all ages who are recovering from serious injuries from car accidents or complications from a stroke, multiple sclerosis or head injury or other types of medical conditions. If you know someone with these situations the TECHConnection has the resources to make a difference in their life. Since 1989, the Shrewsbury location has existed as one of 46 national centers
approved by the Alliance for Technology Access, functioning as a community
technology center for people with disabilities in New Jersey. This year
TECHConnection was also awarded the distinction of becoming one of the 26
national Microsoft Access Resource Centers (MARC) to help everyone use the
computer more easily. Family Resource Associates was established in 1979. Visit
them at www.frainc.org and www.techconnection.org or call 732-747-5310. ### |
