Linda Bidabe of MOVE International has task analyzed and broken down each skill and presented it in a simple, step-by-step format. Reinforcers are played based on the age level that is selected in the program. Engaging, age-appropriate graphics and music are used throughout the program.

S146 TOUCH!

Throughout the documentation we refer to "touching" the shapes on the screen, as the program was conceived for those who use a tocuhscreen or touch monitor. However, there are many uses to which the program can be put with specific reference to mouse skills. The pointer can be turned off altogether; it can appear small or it can appear large, in a variety of colors and can be made to flash. It is also possible to activate the objects by pressing the keys Space or Return. The program can therefore be used as a cause-and-effect game for switch users. The program uses four simple shapes: a square, a circle, a triangle and a star. Each shape can be small, medium or large and be one of six colors. The main idea is to touch or click on one or more of the shapes. So it can be simple, visual task, a discrimination task or even a task involving timing- touch or click when the shape "peeps" out.

However using a mouse, pupils can learn to move the mouse, hover it on the balloon and click to pop it. Alternatively, you can use the switches. Using a switch, students can learn to watch the scanning area, and hit the switch to burst a balloon when it drifts under the cursor.
