Tech Therapeutic Recreation

Description:

  • Drama Classes - Designed to enrich language skills, following directions, and creativity in real life situations. Activities include role playing for increased language and independence.
  • Art Activity - Working on fine motor coordination through a variety of creative and fun projects.
  • Computer Classes - Enjoy exciting computer activities to increase computer skills and learning. Working at their own pace, students will use the computer to practice keyboarding, word processing, creative writing and exploring the Internet. Supplemental academic software will be utilized to develop spelling, organization, keyboarding and money skills. Adapted input devices are available for students who do not use the standard keyboard or mouse.
  • Cooking - Learning life skills such as food preparation, menu planning and item cost. Students will utilize the microwave and toaster oven to prepare dinner meals. Learning how to follow cooking directions and understanding item cost for purchasing.


    • RHYTHM IN MUSIC
    Time: 2 - 3 PM
    Cost: $240 per sesson
    First 3 Saturdays of each month

    FALL SESSION: Oct. 8 - Jan. 21
    WINTER/SPRING SESSION: Feb. 4th - May 19th

    Students will learn to play music using a variety of hand instruments such as melody sticks and simple percussion instruments. This will be accomplished through the use of recorded music and live music such as piano and guitar lead by our music Teacher, Neal DiSimone, who is also a professional musician and parent. Students will learn about and sample a variety of music styles such as country, pop, Broadway hits and seasonal tunes. Students will have an opportunity to perform their newly learned skills with an annual concert to be performed to the community in conjunction with the FRA Dance class recital.

    This is a real life choice approved program.
