EmployAbility

Employment Services

Why are new services needed?

According to the US Department of Labor report 2013, only 28% of people with a developmental disability are employed. Of those, 55% typically lose their job within three - six months. Often, the employee lacks the ability to perform as expected in the traditional jobs which usually requires speed, accuracy and multi-tasking in a fast paced environment. Others find it difficult to find an appropriate job that interests them or matches their abilities. It is the goal of FRA's EmployAbility programs to change these statistics. The goal is for job retention, acceptance from the entire workforce, and longevity in the workplace by using customized employment strategies.
