The NJ Department of Heath (DOH) updated its hospital visitation policy for people with disabilities effective May 12, 2020 to allow 2 designated support people.
Updated visitor policy released by the Governor for people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. It now allows TWO designated support people to be with the person throughout their hospital stay from emergency room to discharge if it is determined a second person is necessary. The people must be symptom free (will be screened at the hospital each time they enter) and CANNOT be there at the same time. This can be restricted if there is a shortage of PPE, which the hospital determines.
